Fargo, GA Mr. Sammy Dean Odom, 71, passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, in the Clinch Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness. Mr. Odom was born Feb. 6, 1945, in Shubuta, MS, to the late Leroy Odom and Esther Tew Odom. He was retired from Suwannee Timber Company as a mechanic and was owner of the Suwannee River Café. He was preceded in death by one son: Sammy Dean Odom, Jr.; one grandson: Christopher Dean Duncan; two sisters: Lois Moore & Anna Odom; three brothers: Virgil Odom, Charles Odom and Harrold Odom. Survivors are his wife: Lorene Pittman Odom, Fargo; three daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda & Roy Wilson, Betty & Demone Nelson and Michelle & Billy Duncan, all of Fargo; one sister: Lucille Eickhorn, Fargo; one brother: Maurice Odom, Fargo; seven grandchildren: Gail & Chip Altman, Todd Duncan & Kristie Riley, Vickie & Buddy Lankford, Danielle Duncan & Justin Pennington, Keifer Duncan, Rhonda & Ryan Fornes and Amanda & Sean McDowell; seventeen great grandchildren: and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Odom will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Fargo Church of God. Interment will be in the Fargo Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, from 6 till 8 p.m. at the Fargo Church of God. Condolences to the family may be conveyed at the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net.
