Homerville, GA Mr. Charles Wesley “Charlie” James, 80, passed away, Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, in the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. Mr. James was born Aug. 8, 1935, in Manor, Georgia to the late Frank James and Georgie Estell James. He worked for MacArthur’s Barber Shop and was a member of New Vision Church of God. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Jewell Smith Corbitt, Mary Cook, Eula Mae Smith and Laura Bell Cribbs; three brothers: B. G. James, Lewis James and Edison James; and two nephews: Bobby Gene James and W. Allen Cook. Survivors are a number of nieces & nephews: Billy L. James, George T. James, Phyllis Crumbley, Janelle Register James, Joy Hayes, Jane Williams, Judy James, Phillip Cook, Sarah Smith, Ila Smith Peavey, Carl Smith, Jr., J. Randy Smith, Garry M. Smith, Linda Smith Morrison, Malcolm A. Smith and Laura Smith Davis, a number of great nieces and nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. James will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at three p. m. at the New Vision Church of God. Interment will be in the Camp Branch Providence (Primitive Baptist Church) Cemetery, Manor, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the New Vision Church of God.
