Fargo, GA Mr. Hammond David Sirmans, 72, passed away, Friday, July 8, 2016, in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, following a short illness. Mr. Sirmans was born Jan. 28, 1944, in Fargo, Georgia to the late Lott Sirmans and Emma Allen Sirmans. He was retired from Townsend Trucking as a mechanic, and was a member of the Prospect Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son: Jeffery David Sirmans, one brother, Theo Sirmans, his father and mother-in-law: Lankford Corbett and Gladys Shehane and a nephew Allen Sirmans. Survivors are his wife of 30 years: Ila Jean Corbett Sirmans, Fargo; three daughters: Cindy Carter (Steve), Jennings, FL, Tracy Thornton (Stan), Greenville SC and Melinda Tse (Peter), Oxford, NH; two sons: Hamp Sirmans, Cork, Ireland; David Lott Sirmans, Fargo; one brother: George Allen Sirmans, Eastman; eleven grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends. Funeral services for Mr. Sirmans will be held Monday, July 11, 2016, at three o’clock in the Bethel “Boney Bluff” Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Boney Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, July 11, 2016, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the church.
