Homerville, GA Mrs. Marla Darlene Lupo Burkett, 48, passed away Wednesday, Mar. 30, 2016, suddenly at her residence. Mrs. Burkett was born Mar. 1, 1968, in Homerville, GA. She was a teacher at Horizon Academy in Lowndes County. She was preceded in death by one son, Cole Daniel Burkett. Survivors are her husband: Roy “Buster” Burkett, Jr., Naylor; one daughter: Macy Burkett, Naylor, step son & step daughter-in-law: Roy & Michelle Burkett, Valdosta; mother and step father: Margaret & Lavern Miller, Homerville; father and step mother: Dan and Virginia Lupo, Homerville; one sister & brother-in-law: Kim & Terry Ratliff, Kingsland, GA; one brother & sister-in-law: Kevin & Joan Lupo, Pitman, NJ; two grandchildren: Brooks Burkett and Baylee Burkett; a number of nieces & nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Burkett will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016, at eleven o’clock in the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church Interment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, April 1, 2016, from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Burkett will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
