omerville, GA Mr. Ernest Ralph Odum, Jr., 67, passed away Sunday, Feb.28, 2016, in the Clinch Memorial Hospital. Mr. Odum was born Dec. 13, 1948, in Lakeland, GA to the late Ernest Ralph Odum, Sr. and Reba Mae Bolling Odum. He had worked at The Homerville State Prison as a correctional Officer and was Baptist by faith. He was a retired veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Survivors are his wife of 48 years: Glenda “Littlen” Smith Odum, Homerville; one son and daughter-in-law: Donny Dewayne Ralph & Karri Lee Odum, Sterling IL; step-mother: Mavis Odum, St. Augustine, FL; one sister and brother-in-law: Betty Joyce & Johnny Mack Mathis, East Palatka, FL; ten grandchildren: Christopher Dewayne Odum, April Dawn Odum, Brittany Daniel Odum, Abbigale Odum, Oliver Odum, Ona Smith, Alicia Osterbur, Brinna Strassburg, Brandon Strassburg and Stephanie White; two great grandsons: Aiden & Jax; one sister-in-law: Shirley Odom, Atmore, Al; two brothers-in-law: Junior Smith and Bennie Smith, both of Homerville; five nieces: Michelle Osterbur, Angel Beverly, Annette Tiner, Susan Renee Conger, and Teresa Mae Mathis; four nephews: Jonathan Royals, Edgar Lynn, Nathan Cunningham, and John Mathis; and a number other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Odum will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016, at eleven o’clock in the Trinity Baptist Church Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Mar. 2, 2016, from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Odum will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
