Plant City, FL Mr. Perry Raymond Wooten, 85, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, in the Memorial Hospital & Manor, Bainbridge, GA, following a short illness. Mr. Wooten was born Oct. 20, 1930, in Homerville, GA to the late Willis Carl Wooten and Orie Lee Wooten. He had worked at Star Enterprise as a sale representative, was a member of the Plant City First United Methodist Church, Plant City, FL and graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He was a Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Mr. Wooten loved playing golf, working crossword puzzles and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife: Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Steedley Wooten. Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Judi Wooten, Climax, GA; two daughters: Jeanne Wooten (Roger Weakley), Mercerville, NJ and Lyn Wooten, Clermont, FL; one brother & sister-in-law: Freddy and Anna Belle Wooten, Jackson AL; two sisters-in-law: Betty Steedley, Plant City, FL and Phyllis Steedley, Atlanta, GA ; two grandchildren: Fred Wooten (wife, Jessica) and Lisa Wooten Martin (husband Brent); seven great grandchildren: McKenzie Wooten, Brier Martin, Perry Braeden Martin, Brynlee Martin, Betton Martin, Caden Mitchell and Addison Mitchell; a number of nieces & nephews and other relatives. Graveside services for Mr. Wooten will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at One o’clock in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, from 11 till 12 a.m. at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed at the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net.
