Homerville, GA Mr. Alfred Lee “Buck” Smith, Jr., 75, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness. Mr. Smith was born Oct. 16, 1940, in Homerville, GA to the late Alfred Lee Smith, Sr. and Essie Mae Green Smith. He was a self-employed truck driver & mechanic and was a member of the New Pine Grove Southern Congregational Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by one daughter: Darleen Robinson and three brothers: Sylvester Smith, C. J. Smith and Arthur Smith. Survivors are his wife of 44 years: Mary G. Smith, Homerville; one daughter: Monica Smith; five sisters: Betty (Edsile) Harris, Callahan, FL, Eddie Roberson, Valdosta, Annie Holling, MacClenny, FL, Retha (Edsel) Orphie, Jacksonville, FL and Laverne (Moses) Murkey, Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren: Ebony Robinson, Loretta Robinson, Bernard Robinson, Jr. and Josh Robinson, Jr., two great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at two o’clock in the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Holmes Chapel Cemetery.
