Homerville, GA Mrs. Linnie Griffis Beckham, 88, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness. Mrs. Beckham was born Sept. 18, 1927, in Homerville, GA to the late Horace Griffis and Noley Pittman Griffis. She was a homemaker and a member of the Place of Blessings Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband: Howard Beckham; two sisters: Carolyn O’Berry and Betty Jean James and two brothers: Clinton Griffis and Shelton Griffis. Survivors are three daughters & son-in-law: Lenell Johnston, Douglas, GA, Sharon Keith, and Doris & Ray Day all of Homerville; two sons & daughters-in-law: David “Buddy” & Diane James, Homerville and Alvin & Janice James, Fargo; two sisters: Daphine Reeves, Homerville and Ava Nell Ott, South Carolina; seventeen grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Beckham will be held Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at eleven o’clock in the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Ramah Cemetery.
