Dora Fernandez Shelton

Homerville, GA Mrs. Dora F. Shelton, 78, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015, in the Satilla Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family, following a short illness. Mrs. Shelton was born Jan. 15, 1937, in Devine, TX, to the late George Fernandez and Maria Gutierrez Fernandez. She was a retired manager for Social Security, member of the Homerville United Methodist Church and the Red Hats. She was preceded in death by one sister: Rosie Miller and three brothers: Martin Fernandez, George Fernandez and Ray Fernandez. Survivors are her husband: Don Shelton, Homerville; two sons and daughters-in-law: Richard & Roberta Shelton Magnolia, TX and James & Agnes Shelton, Homerville; two sisters: Ofelia Oliveras, Pleasanton, TX and Aurora Shanley, Temple, TX; two brothers: Jesse Fernandez, San Antonio, TX and Lupe Fernandez, Devine, TX; two grandchildren: Owen Shelton, Franklin, NC and Sarah Shelton, Homerville; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family will receive friends, Tuesday July 21, 2015, from 6 til 8 p.m. at the Roundtree Funeral Home. Funeral mass for Mrs. Shelton will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at ten o’clock in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devine, TX. The rosary service will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 at seven o’clock at the Hurley Funeral Home in Devine, TX.
