Homerville, GA Mr. Roy Lucion Delk, Sr., 67, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 in the Clinch HealthCare Nursing Home, Homerville, GA, following an extended illness. Mr. Delk was born Sept. 7, 1947, in Homerville, GA. to the late Tharpe Edward Delk and Mary Jane Herrin Delk. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Pearson, GA and was a self-employed truck driver. Mr. Delk was preceded in death by three sisters: Rosa Lee Smith, Ollie Mae Swearingen, Melva Griffis and Edna Fitchett; three brothers: George Raymond Delk, T. E. Delk and A. V. Delk. Survivors are one daughter: Sandra Delk, Homerville; one son: Roy L. Delk, Jr., Savannah, GA; two brothers: Ed Rivers Delk, Lake City, FL and Henry Bruce Delk, Homerville; six grandchildren: one great grandson: and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Delk will be held Friday, July 3, 2015 at two o’clock in the Lang Country Church. Interment will be in the Lang Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Thursday, July 2, 2015, from 6 til 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will meet at the funeral home, Friday at 1:00 p.m., to go to the church together.
