Homerville, GA Mrs. Mae Griffis Booth, 90, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009, at the Clinch Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Booth was born December 5, 1918, in Clinch County, to the late Arthur Griffis & Estella Highsmith Griffis. She was a Care Taker from 1954-1976 for Lake Vern Hunting & Fishing Club, and a member of the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church. Mrs. Booth is preceded in death by her husband, Lester Booth: two step-sons: Walter Booth and E. H. Booth; three brothers: J. T. Griffis, Jack Griffis, & Elroy Griffis; and two sisters: Rheuma Griffis & Inez Bennett. Survivors are three sisters & brothers-in-law: Rubye G. Sims, of Waycross; Thelma G. & Bill Maxwell, and Lunette G. & Verlin Ritch, all of Homerville; one brother & sister-in-law: George Owen & Sarah Griffis, of Homerville; two step daughters: JoAnn Griffis and Lugene Teston both of Homerville; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special niece: Dawn Slocomb; & several other relatives. Services for Mrs. Griffis will be held Monday, January 19, 2009, at eleven o’clock from the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church. Internment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from the Roundtree Funeral Home, Sunday evening, January 18, 2009; from 6 til 9 pm. Mrs. Booth will be carried to the church one hour prior to services.
