Susie Griffis McCain

Homerville, GA Mrs. Susie Griffis McCain, 87, passed away Saturday, Mar. 21, 2015 in the Clinch HealthCare, Homerville, following an extended illness. Mrs. McCain was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Homerville, GA, to the late Seward Griffis and Vera Bell Futch Griffis. She was retired from B-Way, was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, the Order of Easter Star and enjoyed going to the Fargo Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her husband: Willie M. “Bill” McCain; three brothers: Joe Gus Griffis, Marvin Griffis and Mitchell Griffis; two sisters: Sarah Lee Pittman and Vera Winnell “Nell” Peach. Survivors are one daughter & son-in-law: Nancy & Robert L. Shaw, Jr., Homerville; one son and a daughter-in-law: Robert & Sharon McCain, Homerville; one sister: Laura D. Maine, Valdosta, GA; three grandchildren: Kerri Shaw & Jim Lytle, Harker Heights, TX, Robert Kyle Shaw, Homerville and Kinsey E. McCain, Pooler, GA; two great grandchildren: Kylee Shaw Smithwick, Homerville and Zachary Shaw, Wilberton, OK; one great great grandchild: Nickolai D. Smithwick, Homerville; two special friends: Rubye Sims and Pearl Kight; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Memorial services will be held April 11, 2015 at eleven a.m. in the Trinity Baptist Church. Memorilization will be by cremation.
