Homerville, GA Mrs. Phylis Gayle Gunter Smith, 76, passed away Sunday, Mar. 15, 2015 at her daughter’s residence, following an extended illness. Mrs. Smith was born May 21, 1938, in Homerville, GA, to the late Dolvin Gunter and Nora Lee Bennett Gunter. She was a store clerk and attended the New Vision Church of God. She was preceded in death by one brother, Emory Gunter. Survivors are four daughters: Kim Lee, Homerville, Laura Smith, Waycross, Shelly Felder, Argyle and Bobbie Gayle Moore, Hahira; one son and a daughter-in-law: Jim & Marie Moody, Homerville; three sisters: Lillian Turner, Homerville, Mary Pierce, Baxley and Rose Adams, Hahira; twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held, Wednesday, Mar. 18, 2015 at two o’clock at the New Vision Church of God. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, Mar. 17, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
