DuPont, GA Mrs. Hazel Emily Mobley Lee, 86, passed away Sunday, Mar. 1, 2015 in the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness. Mrs. Lee was born Oct. 29, 1928, in Valdosta, GA, to the late William Henry Mobley, III and Nancy Melton Mann Mobley. She was a homemaker and a member of the DuPont Baptist Church. She was a member of the John Floyd Chapter of the DAR from 1958 until it was disbanded in 2013, the United Daughter of the Confederacy #471, The Daughters of American Colonists and former member of the Huxford Board of Directors. She was Co-Chairperson for the Keep America Beautiful Campaign during the George W. Bush administration. Mrs. Lee and her committee were presented an award during a ceremony in the Rose Garden at the White House; in attendance were former President George W. Bush and Lee Greenwood. She a member of the Clinch Memorial Hospital Board, where she served as chairperson for many years. Mrs. Lee loved the 4-H program and Lee Engineering was a big supporter of various 4-H programs, she was a 4-H leader for several years and went on many district program achievements and 4-H camp trips. She was an active supporter of Bridges of Hope. Mrs. Lee was a charitable, caring individual whose one concern was the Crossnore School Children’s Home in North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband: Grover Columbus “G. C.” Lee; one daughter: Laura Nancy Lee; four sisters: Winifred Koch, Linette McClain, Dorothy Coats, and Helen George; two brothers, William H. Mobley, VI and Emory Mobley. Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law: Emily & William D. Metcalf, DuPont; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Kenneth & Dolly Lee and David Lee, all of DuPont; one sister: Tiny Bozeman, Dade City, FL; seven grandchildren: Bryan O. Luke, Adam Metcalf, Caroline & Brad Douthit, Jennifer & Austin Deloach, Jr., Josh & Laurie Anna Lee, Dayton Lee and Lindsey Lee; six great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Lee will be held Wednesday, Mar. 4, 2015 at two o’clock in the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Homerville, GA. Interment will be in the North Cemetery, DuPont, GA. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, Mar. 3, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Lee will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
