Mr. Louie S. Pittman, 72, passed away in his sleep, Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Pittman was born Oct. 18, 1942, in Homerville, GA, to the late Clifton F. Pittman and Hattie Capps Pittman. He was a beekeeper by trade and carrier for the Valdosta Daily Times in his later years. He enjoyed fishing, his garden and most of all spending time around the table with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers: Clifton Pittman, Jr., Marcus Pittman, Oswald Pittman, Paul Pittman and Arthur Pittman; three sisters; Mary Emma Pittman, Reba Pittman Wactor and Margie Pittman. Survivors are his wife of 49 years: Brenda Suggs Pittman, Homerville; one son and a daughter-in-law: Matt & Lisa Pittman, Homerville; two daughters and son-in-law: Denise & Scott Chesser, Hortense and Anita Stalvey, Nashville, GA; four grandchildren: Slade Pittman, Gage Stalvey, Torie Chesser and Emily Chesser; one sister: Dorothy Kelly, Bradenton, FL; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Graveside services for Mr. Pittman will be held, Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 at two o’clock in the Antioch Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
