Homerville, GA Mr. Thomas Calvin Smith, 77, passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, following an extended illness. Mr. Smith was born Jan. 7, 1938, in Homerville, GA, to the late Nayon Smith and Odessa Hendrix Smith. He was a heavy equipment operator for Langdale Forest Products and attended the Church of God. He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law: Lloyd J. Strickland and Mary Jane Strickland. Survivors include his wife: Pauline Strickland Smith, Lake Park, GA; four sons and daughters-in-law: Wendell & Shelia Smith, Waycross, James & Penny Smith, Blackshear, Randy Lynn & Hope Smith, Weatherford, TX, and Clay & Karol Smith, Fort Worth, TX; two sisters and brother-in-law: Zelma Ree Chauncey, Homerville and Marcia & Jimmy Brantley, Waresboro, GA; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Larry & Vivian Smith, Homerville and N. B. & Billie Jo Smith, St. George, GA; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held, Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015 at three o’clock in the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Wayfare Church Cemetery, Echols County. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
