Homerville, GA Mr. Jimmy Foster, 65, passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 in the Langdale Hospice House, Valdosta, GA, following an extended illness. Mr. Foster was born Aug. 29, 1949, in Jackson Gap, AL, to the late James Foster and Adella Simmons. He moved to Homerville in 1958. He worked many years in the woods for many different employers. He loved to plant a garden of vegetables and to go fishing. Jimmy also loved dogs. He made a lot of friends and raised a lot of children as his own. He was called “Boss” by many of his friends. He will be greatly missed by Judy “Penny” Davis, two sisters; Ruby Gordon and Annie Fluker both of Homerville; sister-in-law: Carolyn Simmons, Homerville; two brothers: Eddie (Willie Pearl) Foster, Lakeland and Tommy (Phyliss) Foster, DuPont; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Foster will be held, Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at two o’clock in the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed at the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net.
