Homerville, GA Mrs. Sophronia Johnson Pittman, 68, passed away Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family following a short illness. Mrs. Pittman was born Sept. 6, 1946, in Homerville, GA, to the late John Willie Johnson and Elizabeth Chauncey Johnson Durham. She was a nursing assistant for Clinch Memorial Hospital and a member of the Place of Blessings Church of God. Survivors are her husband: James Pittman, Homerville; one daughter and son-in-law: Lisa & Marty Browning, Argyle; three sons and a daughter-in-law: David & Shelby Pittman, Ft. White, FL, Barney Pittman (Macie Parr), Argyle and Paul Pittman, Homerville; one sister: Mary Latrelle Lee, Waycross; one brother: Waylonzey Durham, Homerville; 11 grandchildren: Chris Pittman, Jessica & Seth Hayes, Heather & Justin Roe, Deonna Delk, Courtney Gilliard (Ben Aldridge), Haley Gilliard, Sarah & Chris Rowe, Savannah Pittman, David Pittman, Jr., Clayton Pittman & Ivan Pittman; eight great grandchildren: Chance Daniels, Chandler Daniels. Gavin Hayes, Jordan Lolley, Brandon Pittman, Gavin Roe, Taylor Delk and Jacob Reliford; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Pittman will be held, Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 at one o’clock in the Place of Blessings Church of God. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery.
