After marrying Howard in 1946, she traveled with him to many U. S. Naval stations including Puerto Rico and Morocco. Upon retirement in 1972, she and Howard moved to Homerville to make it their home. Edna was an active member of the Homerville First Baptist Church. She was also very involved in her community. Edna truly enjoyed sports. She was a supporter of Clinch County High School sports and a faithful, ardent fan of the Atlanta Braves. As she became unable to attend a CCHS football game, she listened to the radio so she could cheer on the teams. You did not get between her and the TV when the Braves were on; she had her favorites and wasn’t shy about giving her opinion. Edna’s health declined for several years before her death. The family thanks all those who took their mother into their hearts and homes, and made her feel loved and appreciated during her time here on earth.
