Robert Franklin Hinson

Homerville, GA Mr. Robert Franklin Hinson, 90, passed away Monday, October 13, 2008, at the Jonesboro Nursing Home & Rehab Center. Mr. Hinson was born April 6, 1918, in Clinch County, to the late Jessie Robert Hinson & Maggie Mae Capps Hinson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, and was retired from the Sessoms Company, where he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Booth Hinson, & second wife, Nettie R. Hinson. Survivors are a son: Afton R. Hinson, Sr., of Forest Park, GA; one step-son: Don Hathaway, of Hephzibah, GA; two sisters: Edna Kirby & Jeanette Musgrove, both of Homerville; two grandchildren: Afton Robert Hinson, Jr., of McDonough, GA, and Martin Randall Hinson, of Atlanta, GA; two step-grandchildren: Adam Hathaway, of Helen, GA, &Trey Hathaway, of Valdosta, GA; seven nieces & nephews; and several other relatives. Services for Mr. Hinson will be held Thursday, October 16, 2008 at two o'clock from the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from Roundtree Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 15, 2008, from 6 til 8. Mr. Hinson will be carried to the church one hour prior to services.
