Homerville, GA Mr. Norman Artis “Pudden” Griffis, 84, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008, at his residence. Mr. Griffis was born May 27, 1924 in Waycross, GA, to the late Jack Randell Griffis & Lola Dukes Griffis. He was self employed installing dry wall, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, the Senior Citizens Center, and the Camp Branch Hunting Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Griffis was preceded in death by one brother: Robert L. Griffis; and one son: Timmy Griffis. Survivors are two daughters & sons-in-law: Vana & Allen Bennett, of DuPont, GA, and Judi & Steve Wooten, of Climax, GA; three sons & a daughter-in-law: Norman A. “Penny” Griffis, of Johnson, SC, Jeffery Griffis, of Jacksonville, FL, and Duke & Dottie Griffis, of Homerville; three sisters & a brother-in-law: Jeanette Berry, of Johnson, SC, Lautrelle Lisenby, of Central, SC, and Marsha & James McQuaig, of Manor, GA; two brothers & a sister-in-law: Kenneth “Bo” & Doris Griffis, of Central, SC, and Jackie Griffis, of Homerville, GA; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and several other relatives. Services for Mr. Griffis will be held Thursday, June 17, 2008, at two o’clock, from the Trinity Baptist Church. Internment will be in the Camp Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, in Manor, GA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 16, 2008, from 7 til 9pm, from the Roundtree Funeral Home. Mr. Griffis will be carried to the Church one hour prior to services.
