Homerville, GA Mrs. Naomi Jean Burkett Buckhalter, 63, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Burkhalter was born October, 16, 1944, in Liberty County to the late Wilson Burkett and Maude Self Burkett. She had lived in Homerville most of her life, was a homemaker, member of the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church and the Homerville Senior Citizens. Survivors are her husband, Ellis Alfred “Van” Buckhalter, Homerville; two daughters and a son-in-law: Michelle & Chris Pipes & Donna Buckhalter, all of Homerville; two sons: Danny Spikes, Homerville and Kyle Griffis, Douglas; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Francis & Winton Wilson, Manor, June Cason and JoAnn & Virgil Dial all of Homerville; one brother & sister-in-law: Roy & Sarah Burkett, Homerville; three grandchildren: Amanda & Billy Reliford, Brittany & Aaron York and Tristan Buckhalter, all of Homerville, 11 great grandchildren and several other relatives. Services for Mrs. Buckhalter will be held Monday, April 28, 2008 at three o’clock from the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery. Mrs. Buckhalter will be carried to her residence at 4 p.m. Sunday and will remain there until one hour prior to the services.
