DuPont, GA Mr. Allen Isaac “Bubba” Robbins, Jr., 69, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, following a brief illness. Mr. Robbins was born Dec. 9, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Dr. Allen Isaac Robbins and Mary Ann Pittard Robbins and lived in Clinch County most of his life. He was a teacher, coach and administrator with the Clinch County School System for 29 years. He was the varsity basketball coach for the Clinch County Panthers for 12 years and coached the 1987 and 1989 Class A State Championship teams. He received his Master’s from Valdosta State University. Mr. Robbins was a member of the Homerville United Methodist Church, the Lions Club and a volunteer with the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Soup Kitchen. He was preceded in death by one brother: Charles W. Robbins. Survivors are his wife: Loretta “Lori” Crowell Robbins, DuPont; one daughter: Holly Preston, Grapevine, TX; one son and daughter-in-law: Len & Jenny Robbins, Homerville; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Bebe & Richard McQuaig, Waycross and Jan & Roy Rhodes, Valdosta; four grandchildren: Reilly Robbins, Zack Robbins, Tucker Robbins and Griffin Preston; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Robbins will be held Sunday, July 28, 2013 at two o’clock from the Homerville United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 til 8 p.m. at the funeral home. All former basketball players who played for Coach Robbins are asked to be honorary pallbearers and be at the Methodist Church, Sunday at 1:30 p.m. In lue of flowers donations may be made to the Homerville United Methodist Church, P.O.
