Homerville, GA Mr. Glenn Rewis, 92, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, following an extended illness. Mr. Rewis was born Jan. 10, 1921 in Echols County, GA to the late Joe Rewis and Ola Petty Rewis and lived all of his life in Echols County. He was a heavy equipment operator for Langdale Corporation, was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II and the oldest veteran in Echols County. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Auen Rewis, one sister, three brothers and two daughters-in-law: Kathy Rewis & Susan Rewis. Survivors are two daughters and a son-in-law: Barbara Hudson, Valdosta and Glyndia & John Curtis, Gladstone, Michigan; three sons and a daughter-in-law: Glenn Albert Rewis, Homerville, Robert Rewis, Statenville and Ricky & Michelle Rewis, Statenville; four sister’s and a brother-in-law: Johnie Bennett, Betty Joe Davis, Ora Lee and Buddy Rhoden, and Shirley Bradford; one brother and sister-in-law: Talmadge & Mary Rewis; eight Grandchildren: Chris Rewis, Micheal Curtis, Bryan Hudson, Heather & Keb Guy, David & Toni Hudson, Carrie Curtis, Dana and Nick Gilbert, Brett Rewis, Dustin and Derek Dixon; twelve great grandchildren: Cain Curtis, Hunter Curtis, Logan Guy, Gavin Guy, Allie Guy, Simon Guy, Miley Guy, Austin Peterson, Emma Quaberger, Brooke Hudson, Jamie & Thomas Randall and Blade Dixon; one great great grandchild: McKensley Jackson: and a number of other nieces, nephews and other relatives. Graveside services for Mr. Rewis will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 at eleven o’clock from the Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
