Homerville, GA Mr. Charles Wiley Cheatwood, 83, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Cheatwood was born Feb. 27, 1929, in Kathleen, FL, to the late Marvin Cheatwood and Julia Ann Green Cheatwood. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, was a POW and a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars. He was a master mechanic for the City of Jasper, FL and Hamilton County, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife: Emma J. Cheatwood. Survivors are four daughters: Linda & DeWayne Edwards, Plant City, FL. Darlene & Gene Higginbotham, Old Town, FL, Katie & Mack McClaine, DuPont, GA, and Denise & Frank Hensley, Jasper, FL; three sons: Roy & Kathy Cheatwood, Lakeland, FL, Jerry Singletary, Lakeland, GA and Joe & Kathy Singletary, Jasper, FL; three sisters: LaVerne Sheppard, Opal Moore, and Nellie Gartman all of Florida; one brother: Ralph Cheatwood, Florida; 15 grandchildren: Kristie & Randy Henderson, April & Dwayne Kight, Mat Dyals, April Higginbotham, Mandy Higginbotham, Julia Higginbotham, Arthur & Ashley Edwards, Ryan Edwards, Ashley & Troy McDaniel, Marie McClaine, Tonya & Jimmy Stalvey, Jason & Jodi Vaugnh, Aaron & Katie Vaughn, Brandon Singletary and Emma Hendley; 24 great grandchildren and several other relatives. Services for Mr. Cheatwood will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at two o’clock from the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home. Interment will be in the North Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Roundtree Funeral Home. Sympathy maybe expressed by signing the online registry at www.roundtreefuneralhome.net.
