Homerville, GA Dr. Roger Wayne Huelsnitz, Sr., 64, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012. Dr. Huelsnitz was born June 25, 1948, in Bertha MN, to the late Willard Huelsnitz and Ethel Anderson Huelsnitz. Dr. Huelsnitz’s early education was in a one room schoolhouse in Minnesota. He received his Medical Doctors degree from the University of Minnesota. He was a physician for Clinch Memorial Hospital, was a member of the Georgia Academy of Family Practitioners, the Medical Association of Georgia, the American Medical Association, Clinch County Chamber of Commerce, the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church and the Behold the Lamb cast. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was preceded in death by one son: Barry Huelsnitz. Survivors are two daughters and a son-in-law: Jill & Travis Whitley, Enigma GA and Jennifer Farber, Bertha, MN; two sons: Roger W. Huelsnitz, Jr., New York and Thomas Huelsnitz, Homerville/Athens; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Marian & Wally Esteb, Kathy & Lyle Boehland and Candace Decker, all of Minnesota; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Gary & Ellen Huelsnitz and Curt & Sue Huelsnitz, all of Minnesota; five grandchildren: Austin Whitley and Lauren Whitley, Enigma, GA, Maggie Teigland, Joshua Farber and Chelsey Farber, Bertha, MN and several other relatives.. Services for Dr. Huelsnitz will be held Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at two o’clock from the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church. Memorilization will be by cremation. Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 from 6 until 9 p.m. at Roundtree Funeral Home. Dr. Huelsnitz will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services.
