Homerville, GA Mr. George Hubert Touchton, 90, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness. Mr. Touchton was born September 30, 1920, in Fargo, GA to the late Leavy Franklin Touchton and Elizabeth Johnson Touchton. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during World War II and was stationed overseas. He was a mechanic for over 50 years and retired from Bob Williams Ford and was a member of the New Vision Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife: Eula Mae Browning Williams Touchton; one son: George “Butch” Touchton, Jr.; two granddaughters: Diane Counts and Brandy Graham; one great grandson: Ernest Counts; three brothers: Henry Touchton, W.F. Touchton and Alonzo Touchton; six sisters: Rose Touchton, Nettie Shirley, Juanita Stalvey, Oveda Carter, Sara Nell Smith and Shelby Smith. Survivors are two sons and a daughter-in-law: John & Janet Touchton and Aubrey Touchton, all of Homerville; two grandchildren: Stephanie & Wayne Bradford, St. Augustine, FL and Trevor Touchton, McKinney TX; four great grandchildren: Lexie Ramsey, Leavy Bradford and Landry Bradford, all of St. Augustine, FL and Victoria Wohnig, Newberry, SC, one sister: Mary Henry, Lake City, FL; one brother: Raymond Touchton, Marietta, GA; three step-children, Joe & Mary Williams, Tallahassee, FL, Sue Graddy, Homerville and David & Shirley Williams, Warner Robins, GA and their families: several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services for Mr. Touchton will be held Monday, August 29, 2011 at eleven o’clock from the New Vision Church of God. Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011 from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Touchton will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services. Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
