Ruby V. Griffin Rogers Nov. 12, 1928 – June 28, 2011 Mrs. Ruby Vonell Griffin Rogers, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011, in the Archbold Medical Center, Thomasville, following a brief illness. Mrs. Rogers was born Nov. 12, 1928, in Homerville, GA to the late Harry J. Griffin and Lou Elva Smith Griffin. She had worked at Standard Container and as a caregiver and was a member of the New Vision Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lester B. Rogers; one son: Raymond Rogers; two grandchildren: Janene Moore and James Collier III; four sisters: Mayola Holmes, Emma Wilson, Nettie Ruth Wilson and Pauline McCoy; four brothers: Lester Griffin, Bill Griffin, Earnest Griffin, and Henry Griffin. Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda & Jimmy Rigdon, Homerville and Glenda & Danny Morris, Moultrie, GA; one son and daughter-in-law: Earl & Thelda Rogers, Fargo; two sisters; Irma Booth and Juanita Pittman, Homerville; one brother and sister-in-law: Paul & Myrl McCoy, Homerville; twenty one grandchildren, forty three great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren and several other relatives. Services for Mrs. Rogers will be held Friday, July 1, 2011 at eleven o’clock from the New Vision Church of God. Interment will be in the Shiloh Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday for 7 till 9 p.m. Mrs. Rogers will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services. Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
