Homerville, GA Mrs. Marie Lacey Carter, 79, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Carter was born Dec. 12, 1931 in Homerville, to the late Arthur Lacey, Sr. and Luella Johnson Lacey. She was a homemaker and member of the Antioch Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin Lacey and Arthur Lacey and four grandchildren. Survivors are five daughters and sons-in-law: Rose Bighams, Janice & Billy Tolbert, Darlene Carter & Willie King, Anethiette Carter & Curtis Myles, all of Homerville and Charlene & Bob Brown, Folkston; two sons and daughters-in-law: Roosevelt & Shirley Carter and James & Patricia McBriant all of Homerville; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Lillian “Penny” & Larry Johnson, Homerville and Bettye Cooper & Jim Dixon, Sacramento, CA; twenty five grandchildren, forty three great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Services for Mrs. Carter will be held Saturday, May 28, 2011 at two o’clock from the Antioch Baptist Church. Internment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 28, 2011, from one p.m. until two p.m. at the church. Roundtree Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
